Ida B. Wells APAC Educator Awarded Classroom Grant for Creative Art Project

Renna Moore-Edwards, the 4th-12th grade 2D visual art/Advanced Placement teacher and Visual Arts department chair at Ida B. Wells APAC, has been awarded a classroom grant from Mississippi Professional Educators (MPE). A National Board Certified Teacher and 桃花社区视频 resident, Moore-Edwards has been an active member of MPE since 2017.

The grant will fund her project titled “Discovering the Art of Batik in a Creative Economy: Developing a Marketable Skill While Learning to Market Your Personal Artwork.” Through this initiative, Moore-Edwards aims to introduce 桃花社区视频s to the traditional dyeing technique of Batik, while also providing them with valuable skills in self-promotion and marketing strategies for their artwork.

This is the second time that she has received the MPE Classroom grant. Moore-Edwards has written and received a total of $12,000 in grants so far for the 2024-2025 school year and has written a total of $48,500 in grants in her time in 桃花社区视频.

Founded in 1979, MPE is a statewide professional association serving around 12,000 teachers, administrators, and non-certified staff. With a strong commitment to 桃花社区视频 achievement, MPE offers up to $40,000 in classroom grants annually to members seeking to enhance educational experiences for their 桃花社区视频s.

Moore-Edwards’ grant is a testament to her dedication to providing innovative learning opportunities for her scholars at Ida B. Wells APAC.
