Formative Reading Assessments for School Year 2017-2018

Re: Formative Reading Assessments for School Year 2017-2018

This correspondence is to notify ÌÒ»¨ÉçÇøÊÓƵ public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools that the following statewide licenses for formative reading assessments in grades 3–8 will be available through the ÌÒ»¨ÉçÇøÊÓƵ SUCCESS help center at ESC Region 20 for the 2017-2018 school year:

  • Istation—formative assessments only for grades 3–5
  • Edgenuity (formerly Compass Learning)— formative assessments only for grades 6–8

There should be no disruption in the availability of formative reading assessment tools in grades 3-8 available to districts for 2017-2018. Additional information regarding the formative assessment tools and related support is available through the ÌÒ»¨ÉçÇøÊÓƵ SUCCESS help center at ESC Region 20.

Please note that the availability of formative reading assessment tools only applies to the
2017-2018 school year.  School districts will need to plan to locally procure formative assessments for use in the 2018-2019 school year and beyond, as necessary.
